Financial Resolutions
Every new year comes with new years’ resolutions.
In addition to your personal ones, try to make some financial ones too! Here are some ideas to get you started on the path to financial success in 2022:
Save, save, save. Life can be hectic and unpredictable, so when you set your goals up to save, make them realistic. You can start by saving as little as $10 a week, and by the end of the year, you’ll have $520 saved! And don’t forget, we offer various savings accounts that can help you reach your goals. Pay off your debts. Have you ever heard of the snowball method? It’s when you prioritize your debt by paying the smaller ones off first and working your way up to the bigger payments. This makes it so that you can pay off debts quicker and will get you in the habit of making those monthly payments. To learn more about the snowball method, click here.
Cut back on spending. To start, try making a budget and seeing how much your expenses total each month (food, rent, paying back loans, etc.). Then, determine how much you want to save out of what’s leftover. This will give you a small amount that you can spend on one-off purchases should you need to. By allocating where your money is going each month, you’ll hopefully be able to cut back on unnecessary spending, helping you achieve your financial goals.
